LOMO cinema lenses have come a long way and are not holding back with their line of Ilumina lenses. They are made for Super 35 sensors, filled with character for modern lenses, very sharp across the board, and especially wide open. They’re easily flare-able and contain modern multi-coated elements. Focus breathing is also more controlled than its predecessors.
Illumina lenses have the classic double-helicoid thread focus mechanism with an innovative bearing system. It means that during focusing gear does not move, but the front of the lens and its iris gear do track in and out up to 5mm. We highly recommend a swing-away matte box (which we can provide). Use of clamp on matte boxes can cause the focus to become stiff and heavy.
LOMO is using an optical glass from Schott (Germany). Lenses are in feet.
